Crocodile "H" Weltrol Wagon & Hybrid with Buckeye Coupler
This is the "H" variant of the so-called "Weltrol" wagons (short for Well Trolley) which were a regular sight on British railways up until the late 70's. The wagons - often refered to by their code name "Crocodile" - were designed to transport large and/or awkwardly shaped loads - especially those with projections which other wagons found hard to accommodate. Objects were supported on the side-frames and any protruding parts were located in the "well". The floor of the wagon was not used to support the load and the wooden decking served only to ensure that nothing fell through on to the track.
This pack includes not one Crocodile but two! The second wagon is a hybrid - non-UK - variant fitted with a "buckeye" coupling. Both are fitted with Eldavo's CoupleStar coupling system which - in this particular instance - makes use of my own coupler meshes and rear warning lamp. Both wagons are the product of many hours diligent modelling and come complete with LOD meshes and highly detailed, weathered texture maps.
The pack also includes 2 special visible loads. These are the first in a series of 10 objects - the remainder of which will be released at regular intervals over the weeks ahead. Others may follow! You can view the Crocs and their loads in the Gallery...
NB: The wagons require Eldavo's CoupleStar bluestar coupling system support file which is available from the DLS here...
